Gentle, personalised care to help support mobility and ease joint-related discomfort.

What Causes Arthritis?

Understanding Arthritis and the impact of this condition

Osteoarthritis (wear and tear on joints)

Gradual wear of cartilage over time can lead to bone-on-bone contact, resulting in joint pain, inflammation, and stiffness.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (autoimmune inflammation)

A condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks joint tissue, causing pain, swelling, and long-term joint damage. If you’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, speak to your GP or specialist to discuss the best care options for your condition.

Joint Inflammation and Stiffness

Chronic inflammation can lead to stiffness, reducing joint flexibility and function.

Cartilage Breakdown

As cartilage degrades, joints lose their cushioning, leading to reduced flexibility and discomfort during movement.

Chiropractic FAQs

Some answers to common questions we get asked...

Can chiropractic care help with arthritis pain?

Chiropractic care may help support mobility and relieve musculoskeletal tension in people living with arthritis. While it doesn’t treat the condition itself, gentle manual therapy can assist in managing joint stiffness and improving comfort.

We recommend speaking with your GP or specialist before beginning chiropractic care if you have a diagnosed arthritic condition.

Is chiropractic care safe for arthritis sufferers?

Chiropractic care may be appropriate for some people living with arthritis, depending on their individual needs. Our chiropractors adapt techniques to your comfort and mobility, using gentle methods to support joint function and ease tension where possible.

Will I experience immediate pain relief from arthritis with chiropractic care?

Everyone responds differently to chiropractic care. Some people with arthritis-related stiffness or discomfort may feel a sense of relief within a few visits, while others may notice more gradual changes. Your chiropractor will tailor your care plan to your individual needs and comfort level.

Can chiropractic adjustments prevent arthritis from worsening?

Chiropractic care can help support joint mobility and ease musculoskeletal tension, which may assist in managing discomfort over time.

Will I need ongoing treatments?

Some people with arthritis-related stiffness or discomfort choose to continue care because they feel it helps support their mobility and comfort. Your chiropractor will always work with you to create a care plan that fits your goals and preferences, whether short-term or ongoing.

I’ve been seeing Nick Chan for treatment as my chiropractor, and I couldn’t be happier with the care I’ve received. He is highly professional, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. He’s been treating my neck and back pain, and I’ve already experienced positive results. I feel much more comfortable and mobile after my sessions. I would highly recommend Nick to anyone looking for an experienced and caring chiropractor.

Honestly incredible!! I went in on a day after my back had been in spasm for a week. That day the amazing Mike saw me, assessed and took xrays. Got me back two hours later and started treatment and two treatments in I am so much better. Not only did he help fix but he explained everything, made me feel so comfortable and answered all my questions on what he was doing and why with patience and care.

All staff were friendly and professional. I was even made an iced coffee in the heat wave! I have never known a health care business to be so organised and on the ball. They made all my follow up appointments for me so I understood the plan moving forward. Nick and Johnny were knowledgeable and explained what was happening in my body and how to move forward to get the most out my health and fitness. Treatment was beneficial and even on the first treatment released a lot of tension and helped make some of the pain release. Thanks so much everyone 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Before I started going to Phoenix Health Hub, I moved like I’d spent the last 10 years folded up in a suitcase. Between the lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and general stiffness, even getting off the sofa required a bit of planning and commitment. Johnny and Jess have been absolutely brilliant. Not only are they great at what they do, but they're also genuinely lovely people. I've had a few massages there too, which were fantastic and helped undo years of my body protesting against me. Now I can move properly again, sleep through the night, and have so much more energy. I no longer sound like a bowl of Rice Krispies every time I stand up! If you're feeling held together by hope and painkillers, I'd highly recommend Phoenix Health Hub. Thanks, Johnny,Jess and all the team at Phoenix Health Hub for getting me back to feeling human again! 😁
